Ryan Orgera

Ryan Orgera is a veteran international ocean advocate who works globally on issues of transparency and accountability in ocean governance. He holds a Ph.D. in environmental geography and is a fierce defender of the inherent value of marine wildlife, fairness in supply chains, just labor practices, rights of coastal communities, and the need to elevate and respect disparate, underrepresented, and/or silenced voices in ocean decision-making. He firmly believes robust civil society engagement is key to ocean management decisions, and that the extractors and their enabling governments have enjoyed too much power for too long. He is based in Virginia, United States.
